XGPDVI converts XGP files to DVI files so that they can be printed on the
Versatec printer/plotter attached to SCORE. To run it, say "R XGPDVI".
The default file extensions are "XGP" for the source and "DVI" for output.
If the <output> file and the "ā" are omitted, then the name of the output
file will be the same as the input, but with "DVI" extension. This
program will happily overwrite any existing DVI file.
To print on the Versatec, FTP the DVI file to SCORE, then Telnet there
and say "VSP<altmode> file name". If you add the switch "/ID=score account"
to the command, XGPDVI will load the line editor with an FTP command to
get things going. This switch can also be planted on page 0 of your XGP
file (e.g. by Pub's !XGPCOMMANDS feature), but it will then no longer XSPOOL.
Since the VSPOOLer insists on adding a one-inch left margin to whatever
your XGP file has, you might wish to set your left margin to 0. Caution:
if any of the fonts you use is not at SCORE in <TEX.FONTS>, the VSPOOLer
will bomb. Incidentally, XGPDVI does not support recent additions to XGP
files, such as USETI and partial font loading, or some of the more
esoteric old features.
